John has a wealth of senior business and people management skills. With over 40 years of experience in high volume, multi-site retail management, and a passion for supporting the community. He has spent the last few years mentoring, developing, and supporting not-for-profit organisations as a consultant, and continues to share his experience in a voluntary capacity.

Rebecca Barnard
Rebecca holds a 1st class degree in Forensic Science and Anthropology, a Masters in DNA Profiling and is currently studying a PhD. Rebecca is an experienced researcher in the field of Forensic Science, specialising in Wildlife Forensic Conservation Genetics for her PhD. Rebecca has had many overseas opportunities during her studies, as part of her masters degree she worked in the government species identification laboratory in Malaysia. Furthermore, Rebecca ran a Covid-19 PCR testing laboratory for the NHS during the pandemic, her time spent here provides her with excellent knowledge in the field of disease detection and prevention, and knows first hand the necessity for a safe, non-toxic-disinfection solution, such as Hypo Solutions.

Paul Langton
Paul started out as a Forensic Scientist in 2003 and spent his early years working as a DNA analyst with LGC Forensics. His areas of expertise and interests are body fluid examination and interpretation; particularly blood pattern analysis and DNA evidence.
Paul became a biology item examination trainer specialising in Crime Scene DNA recovery including the identification, examination and interpretation of body fluids. He has worked on a diverse multi-disciplinary range of forensic cases and has taught a wide variety of forensic science practitioners including police officers, variety of universities and colleges and other institutions.
Paul has a huge amount of practitioner experience gained prior to joining UCLan, having worked as a Forensic Scientist for over 21 years. He was a Forensic Specialist for Lancashire Constabulary working on serious crime, and a DNA analyst / item examination trainer for LGC Forensics. He also was part of the team to obtain UKAS 17025 accreditation including validation and verification experiments .
In addition to his forensic science teaching he is an active researcher and has supervised numerous Forensic Science dissertations.

Georgia Wiggins
Georgia has a first class honours degree in forensic science and a masters degree in DNA profiling. She has a passion for research and networking in order to improve the anticontamination protocols in and out of the laboratory, as well as pursuing a more sustainable future for forensic sciences.

Nicol Mavrou
Nicol is an experienced forensic scientist with an extensive background in DNA Processing. She dedicated both her Bachelor and Master dissertations on research surrounding the degradation of DNA in order to provide more insight into the topic. Alongside her passion for forensic research & working on a diverse range of cases, her exceptional knowledge on the ISO 17020 & 17025 standards are what drive her to improve anti contamination measures to ensure the reliability and credibility of DNA samples into the criminal justice system.
